Common questions

The questions we hear most often, answered plainly.

What kinds of organizations do you work with?

We work primarily with upper-mid-market and large enterprises in the United States, usually between two thousand and sixty thousand employees. Our clients are often multi-site, have grown through acquisition, and run a mix of HR systems that no single team fully owns.

What is the typical starting point?

Most relationships begin with the productivity assessment, a focused piece of work that maps where productive time is lost. From there we may move into operating model design or into the People stage of the pipeline.

How long does an engagement run?

An assessment usually runs four to six weeks. Design work commonly runs eight to sixteen weeks depending on scope. Capability work such as manager enablement is often delivered in shorter cycles spread across a quarter or more.

Do you promise results?

No. Organizations are made of people, and people are not inputs in a formula. We commit to a clear method, honest communication, and work your team can carry forward, but we do not promise particular outcomes.

Are your platform ratings paid for?

No. We accept no payment, placement, or sponsorship for our field notes on workforce platforms. Our ratings are our own opinion, published with a transparent scoring approach.

Which platforms do you review?

We currently publish field notes on BambooHR, Paylocity, Dayforce, and Rippling, with a comparison hub that brings the scores together.

Can you help us choose a platform?

We can help you structure the decision: define your must-have capabilities, weight them against your priorities, and interpret what you learn in demonstrations. We are not affiliated with any vendor and we do not sell software.

Do you work on site or remotely?

Both. We travel for critical sessions such as interviews, design workshops, and enablement practice, and we work remotely for much of the analysis and review. The mix depends on what the work needs.

How do you handle confidential information?

Carefully. We work under written confidentiality terms, limit access to what the engagement requires, and follow the data practices described in our privacy policy. We avoid collecting personal data beyond what the work needs.

What if we only need a small piece of help?

That is fine. Many engagements are deliberately narrow. We would rather solve one real problem well than propose a large program you did not ask for.

Do you provide software or implementation services?

No. We are an advisory practice. We help you think clearly and design well, but we do not sell or implement platforms.

How do we start?

Use the assessment request form or the contact form. Both reach a person. Tell us what is slowing your teams down and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Where are you located?

Our office is at 500 Boylston Street, Suite 1450, Boston, MA 02116. We serve clients across the United States.

How are you different from a large consultancy?

We are smaller and more senior. You work with the people doing the work, not a rotating team. And we design for your team to carry the change forward rather than depending on us.
